How many points do TOK and the Extended Essay add?
Together, Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay contribute up to 3 bonus points, set by a matrix of their two letter grades. A grade of E in either can fail the diploma.
What is the minimum score to pass the IB Diploma?
You need at least 24 points overall, plus a set of conditions — no grade of 1, limited 2s and 3s, and no E in TOK or the Extended Essay. This calculator checks those conditions.
